Late June to late July is firefly season

You can see fireflies in Shirakawa-go from late June to the end of July.

Last year, we were able to see many in the Gassho village.

This is a quiet time with relatively few tourists, so

on cooler nights, taking a walk to watch the fireflies is a recommended activity.
