Belated Happy New Year. Thank you for your continued support this year.
The snow has finally settled down and the weather is a little sunny in Shirakawa-go.
If you ask me what kind of year last year was, I think it was a year in which we were supported by many producers and businesses, had many encounters with customers from all over the world, received many blessings from the mountains, and enjoyed them by our customers.
Due to global warming, midsummer days continue into autumn in Shirakawa-go, and in this incredible natural environment, we don’t know what blessings the mountains will give us this year, but we hope to continue running the inn together with nature, producers, businesses, and customers this year.
We are also preparing to renovate the building itself, two of the old Japanese-style guest rooms. We plan to close the inn for about half a month from mid-June, so we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Finally,
This year’s New Year’s holiday brought with it unexpectedly heavy snowfall,
and more visitors than expected, causing chaos in the village.
During the New Year’s holiday and the three-day weekend,
please be sure to pay close attention to weather and traffic information,
and be careful when visiting.
We ask that you please be careful when visiting.
